I’m just a guy with a camera. It started with just trying to capture moments for myself. Then other people started to enjoy seeing those moments, also. Then I was asked if I could capture other people’s moments. Now I’m a guy with a camera and an idea to make something that people will enjoy, whether it’s a group of strong women knock each other around on a roller derby track or raindrops on the car window. I plan to keep doing this for as long as I’m able, and it will be interesting to see how successful others think I am at it.
My name is Mike Sørensen, and this is my page. I live in the small river city of Quincy, IL. While it’s small, there’s never a lack of things to do here. Art shows, charity galas, local bands, sporting events, community parties, you name it, there’s always something going on if you know where to look. I’m fortunate enough to have friends that point me in the right direction.
I never really planned to become a photographer or videographer. I started going to events with my camera just for myself, but then I hear ten little words. Then I heard them again, and again…
“Do you mind if we use some of your pictures?”
It may be one of the best compliments I was ever paid. So now I’m expanding, and hoping to continue to expand. Quincy is located close enough that events in Chicago, St Louis, Kansas City are all in reach. And locally, there are brilliant organizations that it’s been my pleasure to work with, and I hope those relationships carry on for a long, long time.
I’ll probably be the guy with the camera.
